How to Apply
Basic information
Applications to the Erasmus Mundus Master Euroculture are only accepted through our Online Application Tool (OAT). The OAT will ask you guiding questions to help you complete your application succesfully. It is therefore recommended that you open the tool and go through it once to get an impression of the documents you need and what deadlines apply to your situation. More detailed information can also be found below on this page.
Your application has to be accompanied by a number of required documents before it can be accepted. For more information on what information is required, continue reading this page!
I saw an advertisement inviting to apply for Euroculture in a paper newspaper accidentally grabbed on a train. That moment changed my career path -- it opened up my horizons, enabled me to travel and study within and outside Europe, make new friendships and establish a connection with the University of Groningen, my current employer.

The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
The Erasmus Mundus Programme supports European top-quality Master Courses and enhances the visibility and attractiveness of European higher education in third countries. The Erasmus Mundus Programme provides EU-funded scholarships for Third Country students and EU/EEA students who have applied to and have been accepted by the Euroculture Master programme within the programme period.
The Euroculture Master will accept new applications from October 15, 2024 onwards for students starting in September 2025 (Cohort 2025-2027). For the academic year 2025-2026, no Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available. We are actively working to secure funding for the 2026-2027 cohort (starting in September 2026), and we remain optimistic that Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be available again from 2026 onward. Prospective students are encouraged to check back for updates as new information becomes available.
Please note that Erasmus+ Mobility Grants and Erasmus+ Placement Grants are still available in 2025-2027 to support self-financing students. For more information, please review our Tuition Fees page.
Euroculture Self-Financing Application Window 2025-2027
Euroculture has around 100 study places across our eight European partner universities available every year. The majority of our students finance their own studies. If you wish to apply as a self-financing Euroculture student, be sure to meet the following minmum requirements:
Applied through our Online Application Tool before September 2025
Checked whether all required documents were provided through our FAQ and Required Documents Checklist
Graduated from an appropriate BA-level programme before September 2025
Ready to start their programme by September 2025
Important note: Applicants who require a visa to study in Europe are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure that all documentation is in place before the start of the programme. Excepting Udine and Göttingen, who still accept new applicants until September 2025, applying as a non-EU citizen will no longer be possible after May 01, 2025. Please contact the Euroculture Secretariat at euroculture@rug.nl if you want to check if you can still apply as a non-EU citizen.
Early Bird Application Deadlines
Self-financing applications might be submitted at any time during the application window (Between October 2024 and July 2025). Early applications are recommended to maximize your chances of being enrolled at your preferred university.
Early Bird Application Deadline 1: on or before March 1, 2025
Early Bird Application Deadline 2: on or before April 1, 2025
Early Bird Application Deadline 3: on or before May 1, 2025
Further applications are possible and will be considered on a rolling basis. Please keep the following rules of thumb in mind when applying for the Euroculture programme as a self-financing applicant:
Euroculture Udine, Göttingen, and Kraków start their academic year in October. It is therefore possible to apply with them at later dates as compared to the other partner universities for self-financing applicants.
Non-EU/EEA passport holders (or those that require a visa to study in the EU) should apply no later than May 01, 2025 to ensure that the visa can be arranged in time.
Remember that your application will take time to process. Count at least four to six weeks for us to process your application.
Euroculture has helped me learn how to adapt to changing and challenging circumstances every semester. Thanks to the programme, I have enhanced my self-confidence and problem-solving skills.
