Mobility Overview

Euroculture: European Politics, Culture, and Society in a Global Context offers multiple opportunities to study abroad throughout the Master's programme. At a minimum, you are required to spend at least one semester at a different European university from the one you started your Euroculture studies with. However, you may choose to return to a previously visited university later in the programme. This means you can study in up to three different universities. The mobility structure of Euroculture can be summarized as follows:

  • Semester 1: University A (this may be any European partner university)

  • Semester 2: University (this may be any other European partner university)

  • Semester 3: University A or B or C (this may be any Euroculture university)

  • Semester 4: University A or B (you may only choose between university A or B)

Unlike a traditional Erasmus+ or exchange semester that you might know from your Bachelor's studies, Euroculture’s mobility is fully integrated into the programme. Each university has a dedicated coordinator to assist you with preparations, including visa matters, university registration, housing, and adapting to the academic and cultural environment.

During the application process, you will submit your preferences for your first-semester university. Once you are enrolled and studying, you will be asked to select your second university. To support you in this decision, you will receive a detailed information booklet outlining your options.

Since the curriculum and mobility are closely linked, we recommend visiting our Curriculum page for more details on course offerings per semester.

Additionally, students share their studies and mobility experiences in the Euroculturer Magazine, which you can find here.

Cost of Living

The participation fees for this programme remain the same, regardless of the universities you choose during your studies. However, living costs, available loans, and grants may vary depending on your selected locations. To help you plan, we provide an estimated monthly cost breakdown, covering accommodation, incidental study expenses (such as books and excursions), and basic food. This estimate does not include participation fees, potential medical expenses, or other personal costs.

For more information on financial support (other than the Erasmus Mundus scholarship), please visit our Participation Fees page.

As an international lawyer from Mexico, Euroculture helped me to enrich my knowledge of the role Europe has in the world, especially on the relationship between the EU and Latin America. Thanks to Euroculture I was able to experience first-hand the cultural richness of the European Union, and the people I met from my consortium universities have become good friends. Graduating from Euroculture allowed me to expand my career in international law in Mexico, and I feel very grateful to be a part of the Euroculture community.

As a genderqueer individual, Euroculture has allowed me to be myself and advance my advocacy for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in a global context. It's also afforded me the opportunity to reflect on my experience as a Filipino scholar in Europe, learning new languages and cultures and forging new friendships with people from all over the world.
