Mobility Overview

Euroculture: European Politics, Culture, and Society in a Global Context provides a truly European experience by offering multiple opportunities throughout the course of the study programme to go abroad. At least one mobility movement is mandatory in Euroculture. A minimum of one exchange semester to a different Euroculture university is required, but you may choose to return to previously visited university later. This means you can spend up to three semesters out of four in one Euroculture university. To summarize your options:

  • Semester 1: University A

  • Semester 2: University B

  • Semester 3: University A, B, or C

  • Semester 4: University A or B

Euroculture mobility is integrated into the programme. It is therefore different from a regular Erasmus+ (or Exchange) semester as you might know from your Bachelor studies. Each university has a dedicated coordinator present to help you prepare for your mobility. They will also support you in matters related to the visa, your registration with the university, housing, and the general (academic) culture of the country you’re going to.

During your application, you submit your preferences for your first semester. Once you’re in the programme, you will be asked to make your choice for the second university during your first semester. A detailed information booklet will be provided to support you in making your choice for the second university.

The curriculum and mobility in Euroculture are heavily connected. We recommend checking out our Curriculum page for more details on the course offer per semester.

  • Choose to visit any of our eight European partner universities.

Note: The Universidad de Deusto is not available for the first semester. Interested applicants may attend during the second semester instead.

  • During your second semester, you may choose to visit any other of our eight European partner universities.

Note: All students must move to a second university in their second semester. It is not possible to stay in one place for the entire first year!

  • During your third semester, you may choose between the Placement Track and the Research Track. The Research Track may also be pursued with our non-European partner universities!

For this semester, you may return to a previously visited university.

  • During your final semester, you will return to either your first or second-semester university. There, you will receive Joint Supervision for your Master Thesis, as well as a course preparing you for the next step in your career.

As a genderqueer individual, Euroculture has allowed me to be myself and advance my advocacy for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in a global context. It's also afforded me the opportunity to reflect on my experience as a Filipino scholar in Europe, learning new languages and cultures and forging new friendships with people from all over the world.

As an international lawyer from Mexico, Euroculture helped me to enrich my knowledge of the role Europe has in the world, especially on the relationship between the EU and Latin America. Thanks to Euroculture I was able to experience first-hand the cultural richness of the European Union, and the people I met from my consortium universities have become good friends. Graduating from Euroculture allowed me to expand my career in international law in Mexico, and I feel very grateful to be a part of the Euroculture community.
