Universidad Nacional Autónoma, Mexico City, Mexico
About
This university offers a part of the MA programme Euroculture, namely a Research Track in the third semester for European Euroculture students.
The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) was founded on 21 September 1551, under the name Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico. It is the biggest and most important university in Mexico and Ibero-America.
The Latin American and Caribbean Research Center (CIALC) is the open academic space created by UNAM to accomplish this Latin American vocation. CIALC takes care of the linkages between the knowledge of the Mexican reality and that of Latin America and the Caribbean since 1980. This interest for Latin America is the outcome of the understanding that this is a region with notable differences and parallelisms, born under common origins but also the heritage of converging historical processes that had developed closely related answers to parallel problems.
CIALC coordinates and spreads out the Latin American and Caribbean studies at national, regional and international level and that is one of the reasons for active interaction with the objectives of the MA programme Euroculture.
